Invitation

The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) will host the upcoming annual congress of the Swiss Association of Scientific Radiation Oncology (SASRO 2009). PSI is a center for multi-disciplinary research for natural science and technology and one of the world's leading user laboratories. With its 1200 employees it belongs as an autonomous institution to the Swiss ETH domain and concentrates its activities on solid-state research and material sciences, elementary particle physics, energy and environmental research as well as biology and medicine.

SASRO is a multi-disciplinary organization with the goal of promoting radiotherapy through science, education and cooperation within Switzerland. It thus brings together all professions working in radiotherapy. Since the first SASRO meeting in 1997 in Bern, PSI will now be hosting the 2009 annual meeting at the TRAFO centre in Baden AG for the second time. PSI has a long history of involvement in radiotherapy research and innovation, starting with pion and proton therapy in the 1980’s, and becoming the world leading centre for the development and clinical implementation of spot scanned proton therapy.

We would like to cordially invite you to attend the 13th SASRO conference to be held from 19th to 21st March 2009 at the TRAFO centre in Baden. In keeping with the tradition of innovative radiotherapy at PSI, the meeting will have as it’s main scientific focus High Precision and Pediatric Radiotherapy.

Invited Speakers
Invited Speakers will include Oliver Jäkel, Wilfried de Neve, Mischa Hoogeman, Frank Saran, Brigitta Wössmer, Beate Timmermann, Karl Thomas Beer and Andrea Tschopp-Hafenbrack.
